Opening date is in early April

A lot of people are uncomfortable visiting the dental office. At NewStar Dental, we strive to provide our patients with the most comfort at their appointment. We offer headphones and blankets to help you stay warm and reduce noise. Doctors are trained to use injection techniques that reduce pain during anesthesia. Upon the patient’s request doctor can prescribe nitrous oxide or a mild relaxant that can be taken before a dental appointment and make the visit less stressful.

In most cases, a doctor must prescribe X-rays to make a proper diagnosis. However, patient safety is our priority, and we take all the necessary steps to keep X-ray exposure to a minimum. That is why our office uses state-of-the-art digital X-ray units that use minimal radiation and are safer for patients. On top of that, doctors will make sure to prescribe only necessary X-rays.

Based on research, fluoride is a safe and effective way to help control dental caries. It helps prevent caries by making tooth enamel more resistant to the action of acids. In some cases, it may even stop already started tooth decay. As dental professionals, we use it in the form of varnish, gel, or foam.

A smile is the first thing other people notice. A nice smile can improve one’s confidence and appearance. Depending on the severity of the case, we have different options to address it. For simple cases, we may offer teeth reshaping and composite fillings. For more advanced cases combination of veneers, crowns, braces, periodontal therapy, and implants may be needed. Our doctors will complete a comprehensive mouth examination and devise a proper treatment plan based on the patient’s needs.

We have several ways to address teeth crowding. Veneers or crowns may be sufficient for mild crowding to correct a teeth alignment. We can offer clear aligners (Invisalign) for the more advanced cases to avoid metal braces.

Arrive 10 - 15 minutes earlier for your initial exam to allow time for the paperwork to be completed. The dental assistant will take all necessary X-rays, and the doctor will conduct a comprehensive exam. A doctor will thoroughly explain the findings, provide multiple solutions, and answer all questions the patient may have. Your appointment can last from 30 minutes up to 1.5 hours. Very often, same-day treatment can be offered, depending on the schedule.

Gum disease is also known as periodontitis. Periodontitis is a chronic inflammatory disease triggered by bacterial microorganisms. It involves a severe chronic inflammation that causes the destruction of the tooth-supporting apparatus and can lead to tooth loss. It can also lead to other health problems.

A dental implant is an artificial tooth root that is placed in the jaw bone to hold a prosthetic tooth or bridge. A dental crown looks like a tooth and feels like a tooth. Implants are a very popular and predictable type of treatment.

Root canal treatment is a procedure that involves removing the blood vessels and nerve from inside the tooth due to the inflammation caused by various reasons. Root canal treatment can save infected or damaged teeth from being removed.

It is essential to see your dentist for regular check-ups and cleanings. A problem can exist without you knowing about it. In fact, most incipient dental issues will not cause any discomfort and can be relatively easily fixed if addressed at this stage. You should see your dentist every six months for periodic evaluation and cleaning.
